Chapter 176

The command startled every peak elder. They quickly shot off in streaks of light.

Suddenly, lightning clouds gathered above the Daxia Sword Sect. It was not just one mass but several.

The heavenly tribulation lightning clouds formed quickly. In the blink of an eye, two massive thunderclouds, each nearly three hundred zhang wide, loomed in the heavens.

Li Nanting froze, then asked, “Is Old Lei finally going to break through? And the other one... Gao Qiwen?”

One figure from Heavenly Lightning Peak and another from Heavenly Pillar Peak shot into the sky. One was a young man, and the other an old man, each flying toward their heavenly tribulations with a sword in hand.

Both men seemed to be suppressing all types of emotions, trying to channel their fury into the heavenly tribulation. They brought their swords down on the lightning bolts with great force. They bled all over and their skin charred black, but neither paused nor backed down.

The tribulation clouds dispersed, and the two bloodied figures hovered in the sky.

Gao Qiwen said weakly, “Take me with you! Let’s go together!”

The other person was an old man with a goatee, Lei Yingze. He was the peak elder of Heavenly Lightning Peak and had not appeared in public until now. His aura surged with terrifying power, and fury etched deep lines across his masculine face.

Lei Yingze looked at Lu Kangnian with his tiger-like eyes and said, “Apologies, Sect Master! I was late because I took too long with my breakthrough...”

“No need to explain.” Lu Kangnian waved him off. “Distribute the resources to all disciples and divide them into teams of ten! We’ll leave in an hour!”

Li Guanqi was soon assigned to Second Elder Xu Zhengjie’s unit. There were five members in total, all Golden Core Realm disciples, including the elder.

Each also received a boost in resources—two hundred low-grade spirit stones.

Li Guanqi handed his share to the others. “I still have many spirit stones with me. It’s better if you use these.”

He showed them some of his stash to prove it.

In the end, he accepted some pills for replenishing vital force, as well as a blood-red Vitality-Boosting Pill. These were life-saving resources for the sect members, and in the worst-case scenario, they would help them take down more opponents in death.

Vitality-Boosting Pills carried harsher side effects than Foundation Building Pills. They could boost a cultivator’s cultivation by one level, but once the effects faded, they would feel as if all their bones had been broken. They would not be able to move or use their vital force at all. On a battlefield where every second mattered, it was no different from dying.

However, all the Daxia Sword Sect disciples still stitched this pill on the inside of their collars.

Then, a one-zhang-tall bow was carried out of the Heavenly Lightning Peak’s main hall. There was a single arrow docked on the bow. This arrow glowed purple. Resembling a spear, it measured one zhang in length and was as thick as a wrist. Countless complicated purple runes were drawn on it, and the arrowhead glinted coldly. Furthermore, the bow was mounted on an octagonal base for stability.

The sight of the bow stunned everyone.

Xu Zhengjie explained, “This is the Lightning Bow, which is one of the Eight Divine Bows! It is used for attacking cities and breaking through protective arrays! We only have one arrow left. When all eight peaks fire together, we should be able to shatter the Purple Sun Pavilion’s barrier! Our task is to find a location to deploy these bows and have them ready to fire before the Hour of the Tiger![1]”

Li Guanqi gave a slight nod. It seemed like the Daxia Sword Sect had made up its mind. They would fight to the bitter end.

There was a strange ripple of energy, and Lu Kangnian’s voice rang out. “Assemble! Take-off!”

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

Every disciple of the Daxia Sword Sect took to the sky, swords beneath their feet. In a matter of breaths, they gathered atop Heavenly Sword Peak. Their robes were stained with blood. Their faces were grim, determined.

Li Guanqi stood silently behind Xu Zhengjie.

A total of over one thousand three hundred disciples were divided into groups of ten. Ye Feng led Zhong Lin and the others in an independent team.

To reduce casualties, some of the Foundation Building Realm teams were assigned a Golden Core Realm leader.

Li Guanqi’s squad had been tasked with escorting the Lightning Bow.

Hundreds of sect banners rose into the wind, flapping loudly. Both sides of the banners displayed the word “Daxia.”

Lu Kangnian shouted, “Do you all still remember what I said?!”

All the disciples roared proudly, “Raise our banners over the rubble of the Purple Sun Pavilion before dawn!”

“That’s right! Let’s go!”

At this point, the fiery barrier covering the whole Daxia Sword Sect was still up. Still, the disciples had already stepped onto a transport array, reappearing in a mountain range a hundred li away from the sect grounds.

The peak elders laid out the cloud boats. Led by the Nascent Soul Realm peak elders, the disciples stepped into the spatial crack.

The Daxia Sword Sect was betting everything on this fight, using up almost everything they had. Despite possessing only ten cloud boats, they had an impressive six hundred rune cannons.

They even brought out all the cannons used for attacking cities. The space was so cramped that some disciples had to sit on the cannons to make room. ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ novel·fire.net

Nearly a hundred people from different factions had gathered within thirty li of the Daxia Sword Sect. All eyes were on the sect, including those of Purple Sun Pavilion spies.

A magical treasure mirror lit up, and Ling Daoyan appeared, standing tall on top of the heavenly fire barrier, radiating a powerful pressure in every direction.

He glared threateningly in all directions. Then, he warned sternly, “Anyone within a thousand zhang of our grounds shall be killed!”

As he spoke, Ling Daoyan gazed around. As expected, many people emerged from the mountain range below and quickly fled far away.

Ling Daoyan huffed coldly, then turned to walk back into the sect.

Subsequently, many disciples walked in and out of the fiery barrier to clean up the battlefield.

In the void of pitch-black nothingness, the tall mirror before the real Ling Daoyan slowly dimmed.

He turned and glanced at Lu Kangnian, who was busy replenishing his vital force.

“This should fool most of them. Keep the pressure high over there. Let their eyes stay fixed on the wrong place.”

Meanwhile, the Purple Sun Pavilion grounds were dead silent. Only Han Tiange’s furious howls echoed from the main hall, along with the shattering of jade bottles.

“Fuck off! Imbeciles! You’re all imbeciles!

“Guan Youzi, you sniveling son of a bitch! Fuck!

Suddenly, someone cried, “Pavilion Master! Pavilion Master! Bad news!”

Han Tiange slapped the Purple Sun Pavilion elder so hard that he crashed to the ground.

Han Tiange roared furiously, “Quit it! What now?”

The middle-aged elder knelt on the floor and didn’t dare look up. Shaking all over, he stuttered in terror, “The... the Daxia Sword Sect is here!”

More than a hundred banners flapped loudly in the wind. Lu Kangnian stood mid-air and pointed his sword at the Purple Sun Pavilion’s grounds, which were a thousand zhang away.

The cloud boats were docked in a row in preparation for the attacks. Suddenly, the pitch-black holes on their sides lit up with different colors!

The cloud boats lined up in formation. Their dark cannon holes lit up with different colors.

Eight squads of Golden Core Realm cultivators slipped quietly into the mountains, racing toward their assigned positions.

“LU! KANG! NIAN!” Han Tiange roared.
