Becoming an Accidental God in a New World Novel

Cyrus Malcolm, unlike other reborn individuals who gain powers or guides, receives neither upon his second chance at life. After a demanding hospital shift and an unexpected dismissal, Cyrus visits a beloved, failing bookstore run by an old man who claims to be a ‘God’. The shopkeeper offers Cyrus his business, a proposition Cyrus jokingly accepts. The following morning, Cyrus awakens to a transformed world, with only the bookstore remaining familiar. He takes it over with the intent of making money and continuing his therapy practice. Unbeknownst to him, inexplicable powers sometimes aid him, and the world has shifted from his memory. The clients he encounters are far from ordinary, leading him to inadvertently establish multiple cults populated by supernatural creatures who revere his words as divine, all while he remains unaware of his burgeoning godhood. This narrative promises drama, tension, and the formation of cults, with a system integration around chapters six to seven.
