Twenty-year-old student Sherin Sarquez loses everything when a wildfire destroys her home, killing her parents and siblings. Left with nothing—no money, no property, no means to survive—she wanders the streets in despair. Consumed by hopelessness, Sherin attempts suicide by running in front of a speeding car. The driver, Cedrick Wagner, manages to avoid hitting her. When he steps out to check on her, his initial anger dissolves upon seeing her beautiful face.
