Simple instruction!
Stay away from Mason!
She couldn't adhere to the simplest instruction I've ever given her in
this life!
I will not stay put and watch every plan I've perfectly laid for a year
go down the drain.
What did she not understand? My relationship is on a low key and I don't
want another secret on the spur.
Didn't I ask nicely enough?
" Uhm, Mr McConnell?"
Fuck! Lily is still here.
" Sorry about that, go on " I snap back to reality where lily exists and
give her a little attention.
I honestly needed my concentration on this.
But it's not going to be possible whenever I remember how she would have
willingly destroyed a good plot by laying her lips on the second born of
Reid's.
Even if she was going to destroy my plan by kissing him, a little
respect should be accorded and it should not be done under my fuckin
roof!
" Mr McConnell!"
Dammit! Lily.
" I'm sorry, sorry. Carry on "
For the first time since I met Lily, this is the first time she's
actually getting frustrated with me.
Well, first time aside the time I teased her before we-

She even looks exasperated.
" I think I'll just drop the ledger for you to go through it when
you're.. errr- done" She pushes the book towards me and stood up
swiftly.
Then with a nod, she was out.
I took deep breaths steadily and squeezed my eyes shut to suppress the
numbing anger, but nothing is working.
" Okay Hunter, breathe in and out. Cool breaths. cool, calm, steady
breaths" I motivated myself and to my surprise it actually worked.
After calming down, I decided to call my father.
If I'm gonna run this company, I need my sanity.
And Iris is against that.
After what I assume was the final ring before the beep, my dad answers.
" Strange "
Strange? That's the first thing he can say to me
" Hello to you too Dad " I scoffed into the phone at his behavior.
" It's still strange ".
What is up with everyone and getting on my nerves.
" Dad I need to talk to you " My voice deadpan serious.
" If you've not made a fifty million profit and calling me to celebrate,
then I don't wanna hear it."
He has got to be kidding me.
" Then you're in for a shock, no overblown profits "
" Goodbye son"
Was he really going to end the call on me without hearing me out?
" Dad it's about Iris "
" What about her?"
So now he's interested?
" Dad, I can't work with her"
" Like I said, goodnight son"
" She's having an affair with Mr Reid's son"
" What?"
Good, his interest is finally on a full tow.
" You heard me"
" How?, why?, what did you do?"

What is going on in the world? Someone should open apocalypse book
twenty and add into the signs of end time.
Making hunter McConnell go mad.
" What do you mean what did I do?"
" Why is she having an affair with him?"
This is incredulous.
" What the actual fuck Dad, how am I supposed to know?"
" Language!"
" Fine! What makes you think I know her stupid yet selfish reasons?"
He sighed into the phone, probably realising the stupidity of this
conversation.
" Which of the Reid's?"
" Mason "
" What are you going to do about it?"
" Me? I called you for an answer "
" I don't know. Leave them be "
Is it just me, or are you also hearing words that rhyme with heave hem
bee?
" Sorry, I didn't quite catch you " I need a repeat of his reply, and
possibly a gun to shoot myself.
" What else do you want me to do?"
" I will not give an answer to that question, but Dad I want-no... need
you to see the risk we're taking. Mr Reid doesn't know about his
daughter and I, only imagine his reaction when he gets to find out about
his son and my secretary " I hope this is enough analysis to juggle that
memory up.
" This is not a good situation ". He sighed like he was tired.
" You think I don't know that?"
" I'll talk to Iris "
" Good "
" But in the mean time, leave her alone" His warning tone clear as day.
" I'm not the one who's frustrating the other " I scoffed.
" I believe that "
Really Dad ? Sarcasm?
" Whatever, just talk to her early before they get too deep "
" Alright. Now I'm busy and you get back to work "
His little act to put me off made me smile.
At least he managed to uproot the anger.
I ended the phone call and slid my black smartphone to the other end of
the table.
I went through the first two pages of the ledger when my door was thrown
open.
Remember that anger? Yeah that one I uprooted?
It's back.
Iris marched to my table, threw a pile of documents at me and flipped
around to march out.
This is an insult!
" If you step out that door, you'll regret it " I growled at her angry
figure threatening to leave the room.
She whirled to meet my gaze and slapped her two hands on her slim waist.
" Really? You're threatening me now?"
" How dare you barge into my office!?, have you no respect?"
" Respect is reciprocal nitwit " She wasn't wavering.
She was as angry as I was.
" That's why you threw my files at me, in my own office "
" I've held on to them for too long "
" Have you forgotten you live under my roof?"
" Your dad's roof "
" Don't test me!"
" Or else what!?, you'll hit me?"
She said it again.
Me hitting her. Doesn't she know people grow past some things?
This girl is the absolute meaning of frustration.
" Get out!" I bellowed and I even felt my table vibrate under me.
" I was on my way out already " But my tone didn't faze her one bit.
She turned around and continued with her swift steps, making sure to jam
the door on her way out.
I'm getting tired.
