Mage Among Superheroes Novel

Turlough is an orc mage cursed with the Curse of the Barbarian, unable to level up except through combat. In a world where orcs are stereotyped as less intelligent than humans, this curse severely limits his ability to demonstrate his magical prowess. Normally, he could advance quickly by fighting necromancers, dragons, invading armies, and various monsters. However, his world enjoys an unprecedented peace, leaving him without opponents to challenge and combat to fuel his growth. Desperate to progress, Turlough discovers a portal in his master's study and steps through, hoping to find demons or other creatures to battle at low levels. Instead of the monster-filled realm he expected, he arrives in a bewildering city of skyscrapers filled with people in colorful costumes. He has entered a world of superheroes and supervillains—a landscape utterly foreign to everything he knows.
