Even Captain Marvel, a cosmic law enforcer, is unaware that the Martian Manhunter, a supposed ally, has been manipulating her. Reid embraces his role, admitting he is playing a hero, but one uniquely his own. As the immediate dangers subside and the Justice League rises to prominence, it becomes apparent that an undercurrent of injustice has permeated their victory.
