"Pleaseee?" Maria begged for the hundredth time today as I sighed. A headache was prominent as she said she'd do if I didn't tell her yes.
"Fine I'll go!" I yelled aggravated with her constant pleas.
"Thank you!, thank you!, thank you!" she screamed within my ear as if she'd won a million bucks.
Today was Friday and she had constantly been drilling me about to the stupid football game later today.
"But under one condition" I said bursting her little bubble of joy.
"What?"
"Steff has to come with us" I told looking at my finger nails that suddenly became the most attractive thing in the world. I could see from the corner of eyes that she was in deep thought.
"Fine he can come too" she spoke silently walking away with a groan.
"Great I'll let him know!" I yelled as I got to my free period that I had.
I and Steff sat in my free period as he decided to ditch class to be with me as he told but I knew I just did it to ditch french class which he hated. So we decided to study for our science quiz for forth period.
"I can't believe your actually going?"
"Yeah me either"
"The teams playing Crosswell high there like our biggest rival, we keep losing to them every year placing runner ups" he said with a frown but then quickly added "And I also heard that Kristrin, Marco, Maurice and Kyle tried out for the football team yesterday and you know what?"
"What?"
"Kristrin was made the football team captain and quarter back" he replied nudging my shoulder "The buzz around the school is that this year we might have a greater chance of winning the title!"
"Why does that not surprise me?" I answered sarcastically.
The coach has been begging for for the four of them to join his team for years, he even went as far as to beg the principal for them to join. There spectacular performances during P.E classes had always given them lots of attention.
"Yeah Cole the former football Captain's going insane and Regina has gone ballistic raving about her boyfriend being the school's team captain"
"Phychotic bitch" I mumbled underneath my breath.
"Tell me about it she's planning on having a party after the football game later on " he finished.
"So I'm planning on bringing Maria to the party after the match do you think she'd go out with me?"
"Why the fuck would you want to go there in the first place?!" I questioned after a moment of sinking his bizarre question in.
"Well maybe because I'm trying to get laid?" he asked in a daww tone.
"Can't you find someone else to get laid with instead of my seventeen your old cousin? She's too young to be having sex" I whispered.
"That's not what she told me" he mumbled under his breath.
"What?"
"Nothing"
"Aren't you like not on the guest list since your like an outcast or something?" I asked.
Steff was once a popular guy in our school but was soon turned an outcast as he'd hated the spotlight and drama that came with the it so he decided it was best to turn against the popular one's which caused him to be unpopular and of course they could do nothing about as his family heir loom wasn't one to be messed with.
"Yeah but no one seems to care so I'm good"
"And what the hell have you been watching lately? Your mouth needs god damn drowsing Anna I'ma take you to church this Sunday, no more bad words for you young lady" Steff scolded as I giggled.
"I'm going to an art gallery collection next month to show case my paintings" I told.
"Yeah that's great, anyone else is going?"
"Kristrin will be there and Mr Greenwood of course"
"Ohhh you sneaky little bitch I knew it! And funny thing also the day that you couldn't make it to school Kristrin didn't either, any thoughts to that" he asked curiously with a teasing smile.
"It could have been a lot of reasons Steff, for one it could've been an emergency" I spoke but knew what was happening as I felt those little damn tingles on my cheeks.
"Hmm funny your cheeks says something different"
We were there chit chatting for a few minutes but was then summoned to the school's auditorium for a prep rally. We made sure to stand in the back because of all the excitement. Students kept cheering and yelling out of excitement.
"Settle down, settle down students" Principal Whitman shouted across into the microphone making everyone quite down.
"This year marks a new and exciting conquest for our school, I'm proud to say that this year will be an exceptional one as our school boast supreme legacy in academics and most of all our rock hard football team! Led by our new team captain Kristrin, let's give it up for our new and exciting football team!"
The auditorium erupted with shouts of Kristrin as he made an entrance on the stage beside his grinning team mates and a glaring Cole.
"He's so hot!" Maria shouted beside me earning a glare from both me and Steff.
"The fuck he's not!" The both of us shouted back out of anger and jealously.
No one was suppose to call Kristrin hot except me!
"Whatever I can't wait to see them play later!" she brushed off out of excitement.
"As captain of the football team, this year we're gonna take that freaking football state championships trophy back to our school where it freaking belongs!" Kristrin caught our attention as he yelled into the microphone swelling my heart with pride.
"And tonight after we've won our first match of the season we'll be throwing a party at Regina's and everyone's invited!" He yelled rallying the crowd which kept cheering.
My smile faltered as he spoke of Regina's name, of course he would I thought as they exited the stage.
Soon the cheerleaders filled the platform performing one of there cheer routine, I scowled as Regina kept on smiling and waving at Kristrin.
Then the unthinkable happened, Kristrin went upto Regina on the platform and kissed her as the crowd erupted into whistles.
I would lie if I hadn't said it hurted, like a slap across the cheek hatred was all I felt as I watched the two make out.
I was a little grateful that I had not fell in his trap when he pulled a prank saying that he had like me.
"Come on Anna let's go home, we'll come back for the game later" Steff spoke gritting his teeth while taking my hand.
"You guys go ahead I'll be there soon" Maria said with a wink.
"How are you gonna get a ride home" Steff asked curious.
"Don't worry about me I'll be fine" she smiled running off into the crowd.
Was she secretly winking about Scott? I sighed, my only hope is she knew what she was doing.
Because if it's one thing I know is never to mess with a player, they'll eventually rip your heart!
