“ How I wish Vanessa could agree that I mean no harm to her and Mara, I just want her to forgive me and know that I’m not the kind of a person she thinks I am” She sighed. “ Don’t be sad, Mandy. Let’s just give her some time, I’m sure she would find out the truth very soon” He assured her and Mandy smiled. “ I hope so” She Said Smiling. “ I think I should be on my way now, there’s something important I have to do at home” Mandy stood up from the couch and picked up her mini bag. “ Oh okay, I thought you would stay here till night. Anyways, thanks for coming over” Derek smiled.
“ You are leaving already? I thought you would play with me” Mara said sadly. “ Don’t worry Baby, I’ll play with you when next I return. Okay?” She said and Mara nodded her head. “ Okay” She said. “ See you guys tomorrow or when next I come” Mandy said walking out of the house. “ Won’t You come tomorrow?” Derek asked “ I don’t know yet, I might come if I’m not busy” She said and he node d his head. “ Alright then, bye” He walked her to the car and Mandy left the Estate.
“ She’s lovely, I thought she was rude the first time I saw her but I was wrong” Derek smiled whole looking at Mandy’s car which was going out of the Estate. “ Are you done looking?” Vanessa interrupted him. He turned around and saw her standing on the steps with her arms folded. “ What” Derek rolled his eyes and she Chuckled. “ Derek, I’ve been observing you ever since that girl started coming here” She came down from the steps. “ Are you in love with her?” She asked him. Derek puffed, He walked past her but she drew him back.
“ I’m talking to you” She commanded him. “ Why do you ask?” He asked her back “ Because you Always stare at her so affectionately” She reminded him. “ What if I’m in love with her, what would you do? You can’t stop me” He said and Vanessa laughed. “ I can’t really stop you but someone would” She said laughing. “ Who?” Derek asked and she stopped laughing..
“ Are you kidding me? You don’t even know who would stop you or you are just Pretending?” Vanessa asked him. “ I don’t know what you are talking about” He said confusingly. “ I’m Speechless, Mandy is Alfred’s cousin” She reminded him but he still didn’t get the clue. “ So?” He asked her. “ So, Their grandma wouldn’t approve of you two, Duh” She rolled her eyes. “ What if she did?” He asked her and Vanessa sighed. “ She won’t, it’s better you stop her from coming here now before things get worst. If you Accidentally fall in love with her, you will be at the losing end”
“ You see what the grandma is doing with me now even though I don’t love Alfred. She would give you a Cheque to stay away from Mandy” Vanessa Reminded him. “ Oh Really?” He asked looking so confused. “ Yes and would you take the cheque?” She asked him. “ No, I won’t” He said Shaking his head. “ Why?” She asked him Surprisingly. “ Because it’s Love we are talking about here. Me Taking the money would mean I love Money more than Mandy and that’s not true” He Said and Vanessa nodded her head. “ You are right but.. Don’t forget what The Grandma would do to you if you refused the cheque. Anyways, It’s none of my Business” She Smiled in a mischievous way when she saw Confusion on his face.
“ Mummy, stop scaring Uncle Derek” Vanessa stopped smiling when she saw Mara. “ Go inside now” She showed her the way but Mara ignored her and held Derek’s hand. “ Uncle Derek, Don’t listen to Mummy. She’s just trying to scare you. Aunt Mandy is a Good person and you shouldn’t give up on her” Mara advised. “ You are absolutely right little one” he looked at Vanessa who was leaning on a tree. “ I can’t believe I’m falling for your tricks” He shook his head Disappointedly. “ What tricks? I only said the truth” She rolled her eyes.
“ I can’t believe this” He said to Vanessa. “ I thought you would be happy I’m finally falling in love…” She interrupted him with a wave of hand. “ Hello! I’ll and the happiest girl ever to see my best friend in love but not with Mandy. I just don’t like the girl because she doesn’t like me either. She’s just faking it all, wake up Derek” Vanessa scoffed. “ Then does that mean you are jealous?” He asked looking straight at her, even Mara was looking at her as she was so curious to hear h r mum’s answer. “ Jealous of who exactly?” She asked “ Jealous that Mandy likes me” He said and she Chuckled. “ You can’t be serious, I might not be rich like her but I’ll never get jealous of her. You surprised me, Derek” She went inside the house and slammed the door on his face.
“ Whoa! Your mummy is jealous of Mandy” Derek said laughing. “ She isn’t, Mummy also have a boyfriend” She rolled her eyes and Derek stopped laughing. “ She doesn’t, she said she don’t like him” He reminded her. “ That means she likes him” Mara shook her head. “ I can’t believe you couldn’t even catch a glimpse of it. I’m going in, it’s so hot out here” Mara went Inside leaving Derek in a confused State. “ Mara and her Mum are weird Beings” He Inhaled deeply and smiled. “ I’m in Love” He rubbed his cheeks.
“ I can’t believe I fell in love with a rich girl, what if she doesn’t love me? No, that can’t happen. I’m sure Mandy is in love with me too, her eyes and actions says it all.”
