Dexter, a nineteen-year-old literary prodigy, found his unparalleled success as a celebrated author marred by profound loneliness, having been raised on stories instead of parental love or genuine friendships. His ascent to fame, beginning with his first novel at fourteen, left him increasingly empty. This culminated in writer's block, debilitating headaches, and a blackout, leading to his transmigration. Dexter awakens in a decaying medieval world, now inhabiting the body of Daylan, a disgraced young man. This world blends steampunk technology with divine law and political turmoil. Daylan, already having failed two of three sacred Trials that assess magical aptitude, is burdened by debt and implicated in plots against a corrupt Divine Church. Lacking any means of return, Dexter, as Daylan, faces the final, brutal Trial. He embarks on a journey that will ultimately earn him the moniker Soldier, Poet, King. As his abilities flourish, Dexter is plagued by the question of his own demise and the identity of his mysterious resurrecter.
