Detective Yifei is assigned to investigate a series of murders committed by the red ribbon killer. Another victim is discovered with a red ribbon binding her hands. During her investigation, Yifei encounters Leo, a mysterious photographer with numerous secrets. Despite his enigmatic nature, Leo develops feelings for Yifei and confesses his love to her. Yifei reciprocates his feelings and accepts them. However, Yifei's friends begin to suspect that Leo may be the red ribbon killer himself. Though initially certain of Leo's innocence, Yifei gradually finds herself questioning her judgment as Leo becomes increasingly suspicious in her mind. As evidence and circumstances accumulate, doubt takes root, and Yifei struggles with conflicting emotions between her romantic feelings for Leo and her growing suspicions about his involvement in the murders.
